Green is more than just a color, it's a commitment. Here are the Heroes of the Green that put the enviornment in the forefront. They know that "being Green" is a new way of life that we must develop in order to protect our future. That is why we celebrate them here.
George Adamson

George Adamson
was one of the founding fathers of Animal Conservation. He became famous when he and his wife raised a lion cub that they named Elsa and then released her to the wild in Africa. Former Vice President, Al Gore, just recently won the
Nobel Peace Prize
for all of his hard work in defending the environment. His documentary that her worked very hard on with countless others, called
"An Inconvenient Truth".
AL Gore has always been known as a friend of the environment. Starting when he was Governor in the State of Tennessee to now. Al Gore is one of the "Heros of the Green"!

Charlie Christ is the Governor of Florida who is asking the state legislature to pass his proposal to support Green Technologies. That is double what the state has spent in the past. His plan is to support the development of
Wind Energy Turbines,
reduce Carbon Emissions and conserve energy.

Governor Schwarzenegger has treated the environment as his personal friend and has made great efforts to take care of it. He has met with automakers to work on reducing carbon emissions in the cars they build and under his watch the
U.S. Department of Energy
awarded $65.6 million to support the California Energy Commission's
West Coast Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership
where the research project brings together dedicated scientists and engineers to identify the best way for keeping CO2 out of the atmosphere and thereby reducing mankind's impact on the climate.
California had always been a leader in taking care of the environment and Governor Schwarzenegger is making sure it stays that way!
The State of California

California has been the front runner of living a "green life" long before anyone else.
In 2006, the people of California passed a law called the "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Performance Standard Act" that say the electric companies have to set a global warming emissions standard for electricity used in California
In 2006, Californians also passed a law called the "Global Warming Solutions Act" that states that by 2020, California will reduce the levels of carbon emissions to the levels that existed in 1990. By 2050, they will reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent.
