Heroes of the Green

Green is more than just a color, it's a commitment. Here are the Heroes of the Green that put the environment in the forefront. They know that "being Green" is a new way of life that we must develop in order to protect our future. That is why we celebrate them here.

Godzilla!!

HEY! DON'T FORGET TO SIGN THE GUEST BOOK BUDDY!

Ok, I know he is not real...or is he? Godzilla was created by a nuclear explosion...so he could be real. Anyway, he once fought a pollution monster called Heodorah and in the United States, he fought the "Smog Monster". Man, one name is enough. So doesn't that make Godzilla a Green Hero?? The robot in the picture is Jet Jaguar. But I'll talk more about him later. One more thing - GO GODZILLA!

President Barack Obama

President Obama has become the 44th President of the United States. He is the first President who has run on an Environmental Platform. After his first days in office, he overturned the legislation of our former President - President Bush - and has kept the Grey Wolves on the Endangered Species List. He has also kept his campaign promise of making the environment important when it comes to solving the problems of our economy and our nation's security. We thank you President Obama from the bottom of our hearts!

George Adamson

George Adamson was one of the founding fathers of Animal Conservation. He became famous when he and his wife raised a lion cub that they named Elsa and then released her to the wild in Africa. They spent the remainder of their life fighting for the rights of the animals of Africa. Read more about George and his wife Joy at: Father of Lions.org

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Governor Schwarzenegger has treated the environment as his personal friend and has made great efforts to take care of it. He has met with automakers to work on reducing carbon emissions in the cars they build and under his watch the U.S. Department of Energy awarded $65.6 million to support the California Energy Commission's West Coast Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership where the research project brings together dedicated scientists and engineers to identify the best way for keeping CO2 out of the atmosphere and thereby reducing mankind's impact on the climate.

California had always been a leader in taking care of the environment and Governor Schwarzenegger is making sure it stays that way!

The State of California

California has been the front runner of living a "green life" long before anyone else.

In 2006, the people of California passed a law called the "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Performance Standard Act" that say the electric companies have to set a global warming emissions standard for electricity used in California

In 2006, Californians also passed a law called the "Global Warming Solutions Act" that states that by 2020, California will reduce the levels of carbon emissions to the levels that existed in 1990. By 2050, they will reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent.

California's Zero Emission Vehicle program has helped launch Hybrid vehicles. You can check out more at
