The Florida Manatee

The Manatee
is on the Endangered Species list and Florida is a proud refuge for these wonderfully gentle creatures. I went with my parents to swim with the amazing animals for the first time this winter and it was awsome. The number one killer of Manatees is humans. And it's all by accident. Without knowing how we do it, hundreds of Manatees each year are hurt of killed by people who don't mean to cause these animals harm. So I went to learn from the
Ocean Conservancy
what Manatees are like up close and what we can do to protect them. These are my pictures from my trip!

This is a rare experience. I got to see a baby Manatee nursing it's mother!! It was really cool!
